General features id Lower Pressure Units
The main components of the compressor are one hydraulic cylinder and two gas cylinders. A
steel rod connects the oil piston with two gas pistons. The pressure of the oil on the oil piston
moves the connecting rod and gas is compressed in the gas cylinders by the gas pistons.
The only moving part is the connecting rod. With this simple construction all forces are on the
same direction and are balanced by the hydraulic oil.
The gas and hydraulic sections are divided by a short distance piece at atmospheric
pressure and two sets of seals, one on the gas and one on the oil side. With this solution
there is virtually no oil carry-over.
The compressors are water-cooled. Gas and oil are cooled by heat exchangers and the gas
cylinders have a cooling jacket. The cooling circuit is completed with a radiator and a
The inner surface of the gas cylinders is chrome plated. All gas seals are made of a special
PTFE (Teflon) self-lubricating compound and the gas cylinders are non-lubricated.

Tests, commissioning and training
The compressors will be tested in our workshop at the presence of the customer's personnel

Travel and lodging for customer's personnel is not included in the present offer.
The warranty for defects of every type is for one year from the date of the first
commissioning (maximum 18 months from the date of delivery).
It covers the repairs or the free replacement of parts that idro meccanica will recognise as
defective for materials or manufacturing.
The warranty does not cover consumables or parts subject to wear and parts not correctly
used or maintained.
Parts non manufactured by idro meccanica are covered by the warranty of relevant

- Invalid use of the compressor
- Incorrect installation, start up and maintenance of the unit
- Conduction of the machine without respect of the safety regulations

- Incorrect repair of the machine
- Change in the set points of the safety instruments
- Catastrophic events
